Godnook Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Godnook ("we", "us") for your use of the Godnook app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who may use Godnook

Godnook is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old. By using the Service you confirm that you are an adult and that you are responsible for any child who uses the app under your account.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. The Service

Godnook provides a nightly Bible-story experience for families, including narrated and read-along stories, a short reflection and prayer, and optional bedtime reminders. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and trials

Some content and features require a paid membership. Memberships are offered as monthly ($7.99 per month) and yearly ($59.99 per year) auto-renewing subscriptions. Prices may vary by region and may change; any change will be shown to you before it applies.
Both the monthly and yearly plans start with a 7-night free trial for new subscribers. There is no charge during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you will not be charged.
Subscriptions are sold and billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Payments are handled by Apple or Google. Refunds are governed by their policies, and requests should be made through the store you purchased from. Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable.

5. Acceptable use

Please use the Service only for lawful, personal, family use. You agree not to copy, resell, redistribute, or publicly perform the stories or other content; not to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; and not to misuse the app in any way that harms Godnook or other users.

6. Content and intellectual property

The stories, audio, text, artwork, design, and software in Godnook are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your family's own use, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Availability

We work to keep the Service running smoothly, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, or the whole Service, and we will try to give reasonable notice where we can.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Godnook offers stories inspired by the Bible for family enjoyment and reflection; it is not a substitute for professional, medical, or pastoral advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Godnook will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or us.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
